Ok I think I worked it out. After Snowball beat Flint in Japan (BK4), they decided to team up to rescue Dust who was no longer a robot after being blown up in the moon base (BK3), Smoke is now against Snowball because... nah i'm kidding, i know the episodes have diddly squat to do with each other
