Mottis

Bad news ...sorta.

Posted by Mottis Oct. 27, 2009 @ 3:13 AM EDT

As you might have already noticed, the kill counter has been steadily slowing down in the past few weeks. Reason? Well, not only do I have a massive artist's block going on at the moment, but I also recently got employed. As nice as it is to have a job, it will obviously cut down my spare time, giving me less time to work on the movie. But I'll do my best.

Oh, and another thing that's been eating away my spare time;
I recently got addicted to an Xbox360 game called Borderlands.
Seriously, that game is like crack O_O I can't put it down. Someone help me!

Silly XD use the game as an inspiration then ^^

Your in Finland. Only help I could offer is encouraging words. Good luck with your artist block. I'd offer you some tools to work with but I don't know what end-product you want your block to end up as.

Enjoy life.

I know how you feel.i have been going through a mental block too.

Oct. 27, 2009 | 5:21 PM aspera34 says:

it's the exact opposite for me--i'm in an artist surge! although i might get 'employed' as well. Halo is eating up my spare time lol. Check out my posts about my Flash Movie coming soon--i got alot of info up already, and i'm sure you'll love the idea and characters! :D

Oct. 27, 2009 | 5:30 PM Avojaifnot says:

Beat the game and then you'll be interested in it no more.
Otherwise, just try to find some gameplay videos of it.

Nov. 2, 2009 | 3:39 PM Mottis responds:

Aw man, if it only was so easy. The thing is that there is so much more to the game than just beating it... You see, Borderlands has over 17 000 000 guns. Well no not really 17 million UNIQUE guns, but it has a random gun generation system. Looking for new and better guns is addicting as all hell.

Oct. 27, 2009 | 8:04 PM foxthefoxx says:

The game IS addicting.. Like me.. I'm addicted to Fallout 3:The game of the year edition... And hell.. the map is huge.. and thats just the first map.. there are 5 more... I'm totally hooked up with it.. Not.. I dunno about borderlands but I know it has a Multiplayers which is ALSO addicting.. And the single player is not disappointing as well.. All in all Mottis... Good luck with that addiction of your.. I have my own to handle.. T_T

Nov. 2, 2009 | 3:44 PM Mottis responds:

I used to play Fallout 3 a lot too and even though it wasn't a bad game, it's nothing compared to Fallout 1&2 imo. I got bored of it after I beat it once. However, I'm not sure what you mean when you say that there are 5 maps... there is only one. Unless you are talking about the downloadable content, which I haven't touched.

Oct. 28, 2009 | 7:58 AM RossRasengan says:

Like Falarinx I will also offer you some encouraging words. Bunnykill 4 is awesome ! its awesome because there are so many links to Ninja Scroll and Naruto.
One problem I have is that Cell-shaded shoot-em-up's like Borderlands don't work for me and PLEASE don't get any inspiration from it !!!
If you want some brilliant inspiration for your Bunnykill 5 or perhaps Bunnykill 6 is look at DeadSpace on PS3. The idea of scary mutant Bunnies would make people shit themselves.
Good luck with your work dude !

Nov. 2, 2009 | 3:50 PM Mottis responds:

I personally really like cel-shading and I think that Borderlands is one of the best looking games to date. If I could, I would gladly incorporate it into my work, but unfortunately(or fortunately for you ;p) I can't.
Oh and I tried DeadSpace on the PC. It wasn't as scary as I was hoping so I didn't play very far.

And thnx! ^^

what is the theme of this movie?

Nov. 2, 2009 | 3:51 PM Mottis responds:

Semi-futuristic. Something between Bunnykill 2 and 3.

Oct. 28, 2009 | 2:52 PM DikkopStudios says:

Well I'm working on a movie too now and I have the concentration of a ceiling, but my technique is forcing myself to work on my thing for 2 hours a day WHATEVER other important stuff I gotta do.
What kind of job u got now btw? I hope something involving ur mad animating skills :)

GOOD LUCK! We're counting on you >:)

Nov. 2, 2009 | 3:54 PM Mottis responds:

Wow I WISH I had a job that involved animating. It would be a dream come true for me. Anyways, my current job is a bit less glamorous. Nothing too complicated. In short, me and another guy are in charge of the maintenance of a local ski hill.

Its always nice to get a job i,m sure you will finish it soon enough .

P.S Im addicted to Gears of War

Oct. 30, 2009 | 9:49 AM Sarnecki says:

i have the exact same problems, eccept i use PC and im addicted to COD and i also have a job, AND school, so im working slowly as are you. i started all the way back in June and said id drop a screen in July, and i still haven't dropped that promise!! shit, yea its quiet difficult to break the habbits of video games and get time in for other things around your job. I just stop playing after a while and just sit my ass down and say im going to animate, and once i get going, it ends up to be fun and i forget all about the game and get hooked on flash :D. so just sit your ass down after endless hours of gaming and telll yourself to god damn animate, (doit for teh fans LOL)

Nov. 2, 2009 | 3:59 PM Mottis responds:

Yeah I've noticed that too. Like, it's really hard to open flash, and start working but more often than not, once I start, I just keep on going and find it really fun.
It's just that recently it has been especially difficult. Once I get home from work, I just want to relax and not think about anything.

Oct. 31, 2009 | 5:32 PM kevinknight808 says:

here some advice:

getting addicted to a game is good when you're making a flash movie. you can come up with great ideas from the game and use em in bk5 as your own.

Nov. 1, 2009 | 5:31 AM ziggy14845 says:

yeah everyone has been saying use the game as an insperation but not much out of it you could use its a sci-fi RPG, yeah you could use the weapons but its sci-fi & BK5 is only the semi-future

Nov. 3, 2009 | 12:39 PM catman72 says:

Moro, katselin äskön bunnykillia,ja klikasin profiiliisi,ja huomasin että olet suomesta. :)
Olet kyllä tosi hyvä animaationtekijä.

Nov. 3, 2009 | 12:58 PM Mottis responds:

Kiitos kiitos!

Nov. 5, 2009 | 9:42 AM gcommissaris says:

Hey you had me worried there but I just saw the kill counter go up by 2 and that means your still working on it yay!

Nov. 8, 2009 | 5:50 AM Mottis responds:

Yeah, I'm trying to get some work done on the weekends, but it is going really slow at the moment...

Nov. 5, 2009 | 8:03 PM RossRasengan says:

It's just a possibility ...

Nov. 8, 2009 | 5:51 AM Mottis responds:

Wow haha xDD
What game is that?

Nov. 6, 2009 | 1:05 AM Everion says:

Haha. I know the addiction. I beated the game a couple of days ago but i'm still playing it. But the breaks from the game come more often. But anyways it is nice to see that you are pretty determined on making a good BK5.

Nov. 8, 2009 | 8:57 AM Avojaifnot says:

I don't know about you, but another thing that completely annihilates motivation is Flash LAGGING like crazy.
It's probably cause I have too many things open and I'm editing a graphic movie in a graphic movie.

What if Snowball met the Happy Tree Friends? Both are computer animated and I'm sure you could come up with something amusing.

Nov. 11, 2009 | 10:30 PM kevinknight808 says:

Few questions:
1. will the guns be using bullets or lasers?
2. will you be bringing back lightblades?
3. how long doe it take to make bk series?
4. is it possible some percent that you can bk5 this year?
5. do you like pinaple? (joking don't answer that.)

Nov. 17, 2009 | 3:13 PM Mottis responds:

1. Already answered below, but just for the sake of confirmation: there's no laser weapons in Bk5.
2. No... well... not exactly. But there is something like that. I don't want to reveal too much just yet.
3. Too long ;(
4. Haha I wish. But it's safe to say that no, there's no chance for it to be released this year.
5. Pineapple is ok xD

Nov. 13, 2009 | 2:07 AM FuRiX says:

@kevinknight808 , he said there won't be any "pew pew" laser guns like in bk3 so i guess that answers to one of your questionz , also , a developer never knows when the resease of his oproduct is , and that's the way it should be , becouse krinkels said he is going to release the new madness @ 22th Sept , and here we are a month and half later -.-'

Nov. 13, 2009 | 7:15 AM Avojaifnot says:

I don't know. I think I remember seeing Krinkels say that he decided against Madness 5.5 a 2 minute short.

Nov. 13, 2009 | 10:07 PM kevinknight808 says:

@felix: never said anything about madness.
that leaves my other quuestions

Nov. 14, 2009 | 1:25 PM RossRasengan says:

That game was resistance 2 but I made it Bunny-licious !! :D

I just had a great idea for BK6, If you have ever played Mirrors Edge, you could have Snowball as a Basejumper avoiding heli's and stuff whilst in pursuit of say Dust or Smoke.
with kick ass action music, that would be amazing!
Peace out keep the Bunnies hot and decapitated ... glad somebody has a grudge against those furry fuckers !

Nov. 14, 2009 | 1:44 PM Avojaifnot says:

Actually, Mottis is the only person who's made furries actually tolerable

Nov. 17, 2009 | 10:54 PM snefu says:

Dude that game is great but use that one guys idea use the game as an idea because you will be feeding your fetish (lol) for the game. Also i think it would be wicked ass to see some skags in your flashes!!

Nov. 18, 2009 | 3:05 PM Stufmans234 says:

I have Borderlands for PC and man i love that game i just play it like forever btw look for lightening revolvers i got a scoped one and now it's my main weapon LOL XD

Nov. 19, 2009 | 1:58 PM DikkopStudios says:

The lightsabers were by far my favorite weapons in Bunnykill (well maybe just because I like star wars). I hope we get to see alot of cool new guns, just like that gun in bk3: when u fire a bullet theres a light and then BANG out of nowhere. Really liked that one too.

Nov. 30, 2009 | 2:13 PM Mottis responds:

The 'light-then-boom' gun you're talking about was actually a grenade launcher of sorts. I just didn't bother to animate the grenade flight. That will change with the Bk5 grenade launchers :3

Press the pause button! works fine against the dreaded "5 more minutes"

Nov. 21, 2009 | 1:42 PM cowgoesmoo2 says:

What about halo? :-(

Nov. 30, 2009 | 2:15 PM Mottis responds:

Halo is okay. First one was incredible, the second was god-awful, the 3rd one was ok, but not as good as the first. ODST is meh, tho firefight is fun.

Nov. 26, 2009 | 9:55 PM Groverp says:

i, too was addicted to Borderlands. But i got through it by playing Modern Warfare 2. that game kicked Borderlands in the balls with steel toed high heels. Let me know if there are any more problems by talking via Xbox Live. My gamertag is Mr man Major.

Peace,
Groverp

Nov. 28, 2009 | 1:16 PM FuRiX says:

I say lots of people just gotta giv u suggestions for bunnykill like... have snowball sliding down on a dead bunny shooting and/or slicing other bunnies.

Dec. 6, 2009 | 8:34 AM Mottis responds:

I have something like that in the movie already. He doesnt slide on a dead body tho... ;)

Nov. 29, 2009 | 3:43 PM all6ofthem says:

u shud also giv him a shovel, and scoop a head off

Dec. 1, 2009 | 6:28 PM damn39 says:

yep that game is addicting

Dec. 1, 2009 | 7:33 PM all6ofthem says:

nun-chucks is a good idea too.

Dec. 6, 2009 | 8:35 AM Mottis responds:

You know, i tried animating nunchucks for Bk4 ages ago, but i failed so miserably that i decided to ignore that weapon. I would have LOVED to include them in Bk4 though.

Dec. 2, 2009 | 7:26 PM Caraboo says:

Idea for ya:

You could place a window in one of the backgrounds and watch part of the fight from a sniper scope perspective (watching through the window) of a bunny trying to kill our main hero (or possibly an ally using the sniper rifle to save him at the end of the sniping perspective). Thermal vision like in codmod2 would be cool to use too for that.

If you go with an evil bunny trying to snipe the main guy you could end it by him trying to focus and then the good bunny shooting him through the window after killing a few other bunnies. I thought it would be a good idea and you're good enough and creative enough to work with it in your own way and make it super cool. Hope that helped!

Love the series and can't wait for the next one! =)

Dec. 6, 2009 | 8:37 AM Mottis responds:

You know, that's a pretty awesome idea now that ithink about it. However, my head is crammed with ideas already, so I doubt there's any room for that, unfortunately.
