Some good news and some (really) bad news.

Posted by Mottis - May 1st, 2013

Well, it's been a while, huh? Sorry about that.

I guess I subconsiously decided to take a break from Newgrounds, animating and anything Bunnykill related and let me tell you... (here's the good news) I haven't been this relaxed for a long while. I have been more active in life and I'm currectly doing my best trying to get out of unemployment. My next goal is to get a driver's license and a car.

However, there's always the thought lingering, tucked deep in my head: "I need to get back to work, I need to keep working on Bunnykill, I need to, I have to, I must, there's no escape." No matter how long of a break I take, I can't shake the feeling of being "chained" like this. It's always there, causing anxiety and stress.

In addition to that, for the longest time now, working on Bk has no longer been fun, aside from a few rare brainstorming moments. The spark is simply... gone. Having to force myself to animate and then getting angry at myself because I couldn't finish even one kill today is not what I want from a hobby like this.

I think you know where I'm going with this. That's right... the bad news. I have slowly come to a realization; I cannot keep working on Bunnykill anymore. The stress that it causes is simply too much to bare. It is sad, yeah, but it's for the best. I'm sure you guys understand.

Now, Is this the end of my animating career? I sure hope not. Even though Bk no longer interests me, I have been playing around with flash, trying out fbf animation styles and doing other tests and I find it highly entertaining. So, stay tuned, who knows, maybe someday I release a completely new flash movie.

As for Bunnykill: a huge thanks to all my fans. It's been one hell of a ride <3

Everyone gets in some moment tired of a certain thing. The trick is to not stay too much on that certain thing. Now, I'd suggest to focus on real life first, and then try some new ways of animating and start a new series. Then, if the spark returns, do the last Bunnykill episode. If it doesn't, then it's okay. What you made is already beautiful enough.

Thanks. Yeah I'm already having a lot of fun trying different new animation techniques. We'll see how that turns out ^^

I'm happy that you made this decision, really brave of you.
But I sure am gonna miss your livestreams. They were really fun and interesting to watch.

Really? I only streamed like 2 times. But thanks :D

look for the light side, you didn't leave nobody in cliff hangers, like alvin-earthworm and his super mario bros Z series, i loved that one... :(

Well the ending in Bk5.2 can sort of be seen as a cliff hanger... I mean yeah, since the next part was going to be a prequel, I was never going to continue the story... But a lot of people don't know that, I bet.

No need to keep working on it if you're no longer inspired. The series had an amazing run while it lasted, and Bunnykill 3 Vol. 1 was one of my greatest inspirations in animation when it first came out. Best of luck with your future endeavors!

Thank you and you're welcome! :D

Honestly man, be proud. Bunnykill is amazing, unique, and just all around amazing. With all the madness stuff going around and random killing flashes, yours still stood out among the rest, and are all just classics. I really look forward to your future projects.

I am proud :)
Even though Bunnykill caused me nothing but stress towards the end, it's still the biggest achievement in my life thus far. We'll see if I can top that in the future ;)

Man i'm sorry to hear that and anything you choose next i wish you the best of luck in your life :D

Thank you!

Dude, fuck it.

Your life is getting better now. And Real Life > Internet Life
Keep improving it.
I wish you good health and a ton of motivation.
=)

Yeah it's getting better, slow and steady. Let's just hope I can keep it up ^^

Your right. sometimes u gotta leave on a high note. for real tho bunny kill 1 & 2 were some of my favorite flases as a kid and your backgrounds and character animation keep getting better and better. Im sure whatever you chose to animate next will be just as great of a series. Good luck, and enjoy your time off :)

Thank you, I will.

well atleast your not like johnbro and you didn't quit in the middle
number five felt done and over with
just leave it if you can't keep it up

Yeah it could have been worse. I still haven't finished the ending for the JASF series...

Yeah, man, I NEVER do sequels right away. You did the same thing for years. If you're just burning out now, consider yourself extremely patient, lol. Go make something else, and don't take it seriously. It's more fun that way.

^This guy gets it :D

Can you please release what you did?
althrough it's not much, it's at least something...a COOL something

Hmm. I've never liked releasing unfinished stuff. I might show some pics some day, but I dunno. We'll see.

you really had no way of continuing bunnykill
the main char is dead the progtagonist is injured and now what

It's ben long enough for us to think Bunnykill is over.
If killing still entertains you and you find too hard to start a new series, the Madness world is always open.

Better to end on a high, rather than carry a franchise after the spark has gone. Some TV studios could learn from you. Hope you succeed in real life matters too dude

Interesting. Do you ever intend to return one day?

While the end of BK brings me no joy I wouldn't want you to continue it if your heart is not in it.
It's been great run, hard to believe it's been over 8 years since BK was begun.
You be good Mottis and if/when you return I'll be there, eager to see what you will have created.
Until then I wish you the best of luck, it's been a pleasure.

I don't want to end this with a "goodbye", it feels to final. Instead I'll just say: See you later.

PS: For what it's worth, having these conversations with you have been a great experience.
As a fan of yours it has meant a great deal to me. Thank you for everything. =)

Well, at least you came out with a bang. Bunnykill pt. 2 was simply amazing. Thank you for your Bunnykill series, it was was a a very good ride, and I hope you return some day. Life without your flash movies will be a sad one, but your personal life is more importrant and good luck luck with that. Best of luck and I hope to you again, someday...

RIP Bunykill: 2005 - 2013
As of you, we wont be angry if bunykill is gone, we will still support you. good luck on your life

P.S: Good luck with the license, too.

Hate to see it end, but I'm eager to see what you produce next. There's absolutely no way for you to go inert, you'll be up to something for sure.

Well everything haz to have end and bunnykill isn't a exception hope the next series you make gets a lot of fame.
