100 kills!

Posted by Mottis - July 12th, 2010

w00t time to parteh!
Oh wait no time to parteh I gotta finish this damn movie. oh well D:

But yeah, anyway. 100 kills. More than in any Bunnykill movie so far. Hooray. And there's still one and a half scenes to go. :)

You know, so many kills might seem like a good thing, but lately part of me has been starting to think that I'm making this movie way too long. And way too epic. How can a flash movie be too epic you may ask? Well, for starters, by making the movie really epic I'm raising the bar for my future movies. I have no idea how I'm going to top this one, or if I ever will. Also, there were people who said that bunnykill 4 was already a bit too long, and seemed to drag on too much. And that's my main concern. I'm afraid that by the end of the movie, the constant, non-stop action will 'numb' out the viewer. (If you seen Transformers 2, you probably know what I'm talking about =P)

Another thing that worries me is, yet again, the filesize. I haven't checked the total filesize in a while, and I'm not going to. I'll export it when the movie is done, and then see if something has to be done about it. The last time I checked it was about 10 Mb, with 3 scenes done, and only 2 of them had music. But, I'm sure Tom will increase my upload limit (again) If I need it.

Oh, and Btw, Rajunen asked me to say that he's willing to do music for other flashes too. So if you're interested, send him a PM or contact me and I'll tell him.

Comments

Well Bunnykill 4 never bored me despite its length, since you made most of the kills more unique rather than repeated killing styles. The music helps to keep it fresh as well; I loved the music in the final scene of that dragon shrine showdown :D
When I start animating properly, I'd love for Rajunen to make music, but that wouldn't be for a long time, at least until I get good at flash (which will probably take years) xD
Anyway, congrats on breaking that 100! ^__^

Congratulations, Juuso!!

We are waiting for the "great upload" of this movie :D.

Good luck.

I'm pretty sure the epicness of the movie will likely make up for the length. Maybe you could add a pause button?

Been thinking about that but in order to do it, I would have to start learning action scripting and how to control movie clips and stuff.

you can split the movie into 2 parts lawl

This has crossed my mind, but I will only do it as a last resort, and even then I would upload both parts at the same time.

I really don't se how this is going to bore people. Especially if your adding a story to it.

Well, I am doing everything I can to keep the action fresh. Each scene has it's own 'thing' going for it to make it somewhat unique from the others and I have something great planned for the last scene.

well actually, bunnykill 3 vol. 1 gets 120 kills, but im sure that tom full will allow you to submit your movie if it pass the 10mb, don´t forget to make a backup

Really? Wow I had forgotten about Bk3.1
Did it really score that many kills? Damn. Oh well, I'm sure I'll break the record anyways.

Oh, and Tom already increased my upload limit back when I was making BK4, it is currently 21 Mb but I'm afraid that even that will not be enough. We'll just have to wait and see.

That's great news! Calls for a nice celebration for me since it's my b-day! I can't wait to see how this Bunny Kill comes out.

And don't worry; you'll be able to top it, just as you've topped all the other ones in terms of fidelity. But I understand exactly what you mean about mind-numbing action. I'm sure you'll find ways to break up the action and make it more mysterious or character driven without boring out your viewers. I for one wont be bored.

Happy birthday man!

Yeah I'm trying to make every scene unique in it's own way with some story driven parts thrown in there too. You guys already know that the first scene is 100% sneaking, the second is 100% action, and the third one is a bossfight. I won't spoil the last 2 though :)

you think to much action wuld bore us? clearly you dont know your fans too well they stick with you becus they want gorey bloody nonstop action amiright guys?

Haha I'm glad to hear that

100 kills! how much longer do you think you'll take?

I hate that question....
...mostly because I don't know the answer =P

YOU ARE CREDITZ 2 TEEM

WUT

Bunnykill can never be too long or too epic. It's not like we get bunnykill goodness every week. :D

you rock.thx =D

congrats you broke 100!!

keep up the good work!

Sounds like it's gonna be as brutal as the WC Soccer Finale not long ago. Gratz on +100 anyways! But remember not to let all those bunny corpses fill the screen. But neither let them disappear suddenly in the air (like that one in BK3.1). But since it's mainly on rooftops i guess that won't be a problem... :·]

There was disappearing body Bk3.1? Can you tell me exactly where? I never noticed it myself.

Oh, and the bodies stay on the back this time around so they won't interfere with the action. They sometimes also fall off the field, even when the battle is indoors. I like to make it a bit video-gamey like that :)

AWESOME! i cant wait and theres no such thing as too long when it comes to BK. :)

I can't wait to see this. Keep taking your time. I know you guys wont disappoint.

congrats man! im excited to see this! AND HOLY SHIT - i need a music guy for my flash soon, so if you could please be so kind and contact him, or pm me his contact info, that would be sooooo great, ive been needing music done for a while cause my last music guy has beeen a bit busy with college, etc. So if you could do that, that would make my day!

I'll let him know :)

I dunno why did transformers 2 screwed up when it comes to epicness since Avatar(2009) Nailed it..
Anywho...
Good luck at the final touches.. and... one more thing..
I'm sure they'll increase your limit..
Since its kinda suckish when watching a full animation that is 2 to 3 parts long...
I want to watch it in whole :P

Maybe it was the fact that Transformers 2 was non-stop CGI action. There wasn't many moments to take a breath, it just kept going and going. Even when the characters were just talking, the conversation seemed to move at a very fast pace. Towards the end, I was just numb from all the CGI so anything the movie tried to throw at me at the end failed to impress. Avatar, on the other hand, had several slow moments and while there was CGI in nearly every single scene, it wasn't as heavy.

In any case, both movies were meh imo. Although I saw Avatar in 3D so it was awesome at the time.

And yeah, I would love to upload the movie in one chunk instead of two. Only time will tell, I guess.

It may also be the fact that Michael Bay is a bad, run-of-the-mill hollywood action director with a boner for huge explosions while Cameron can actually make enjoyable movies.

Sarnecki: What kind of flash are we talking about? Also, I can be contacted via PM, on Skype (chat preferred) or IRC in quakenet. :)

BTW what do you have planned for after bunnykill 5
